5 Quick Tips To Detangle Your Hair

Do You Struggle With Tangles? <br />5 Quick Tips To Detangle Your Hair

Cold, dry weather sometimes makes it seem impossible to keep our strands in place, and the products we lather in feel like they’re just weighing our hair down. Thankfully, hope for your hair is not lost. Here are five very easy ways to keep your hair smooth and in place.

Step 1: Determine The Damage

How tangled is your hair on a scale of "slightly knobbly" to "full-on bird’s nest"? If it’s the former, you might be able to get away with skipping straight to Step 3. However, more challenging cases may need to continue on to Step 2. How strong are your strands? How long are your locks? Is your hair curly or dry? It's always smart to know your hair's type.

Step 2: Hydrate With A Masque

You’ll want to try deep-conditioning your hair before even touching a comb. Gently dampen it with either a spray bottle filled with water, or your hands. Apply an organic masque that contains as many natural oils as possible (you’ll need them). Be gentle when you wash.

Step 3: Moisturize With Oil

Apply a hydration oil, such as argan or Moroccan Oil to tangled parts of your hair and let it sit for five minutes. The fatty acids and vitamin E included in 100% pure argan oil will help nourish your strands as the oil gently lubricates your hair. If you’re prone to oily strands, wash it out with warm water and...

Step 4: Comb Carefully

With a wide-toothed comb, begin going through your strands from the ends to the roots –– that’s the best way to avoid breakage. Make sure to go slowly and carefully, especially in the most tangled areas. Comb your hair in sections, and clip up your detangled strands to keep them away from the portions you need to work on. Dry hair gently but thoroughly.

Step 5: Nourish Your Hair

After you’ve gone through your tangles, you’ll want to nourish your newly combed hair with a leave-in oil that’s rich in vitamins. An argan oil blend may include vitamins E and D3 for a boost of nutrients, plus natural oils that will help keep your strands from clumping up again.

While it may be time-consuming, detangling your hair the right way is essential if you want to avoid breakage. Do you suffer from tangles and bedhead? You don't have to anymore.
