Follicles and Hair Growth

When your scalp is healthy and hydrated, your follicles will follow a regular three-phase growth cycle: anagen, catagen, and telogen.


Anagen: The growing stage. About 90% of hair follicles are currently in this period, which lasts 3-5 years.

Catagen: Your hair's growing stage slows as your follicle prepares to become dormant.

Telogen: This is when your follicle is completely dormant. It lasts for 3 to 4 months before the old hair falls out.2
