Ask a Stylist: How to Grow Long Hair Fast

Ask a Stylist: How to Grow Long Hair Fast

Many women get so wrapped up in what you need to grow hair fast they forget growing healthy hair should be top priority. There are a lot of products and foods to help grow hair faster, BUT you want it to be stronger and thicker too. Increasing biotin alone is not enough.

Here's our top stylist tips.

1. Use deep conditioner or a hair mask when you shampoo.

"Most women don't realize they sabotage themselves by not adding the right hydration from the beginning. Over time, due to heat damage and over styling, your hair will start to get thinner. Using conditioner or a deep conditioning mask, will help replace the lipids and proteins while also sealing the cuticle to help prevent more damage, so that you can grow longer and healthier hair."
2. Leave it alone.

Women are always doing EVERYTHING to their hair except hydrating it. Stop with the heating tools, silicone styling products and junk food. All of these things effect the health of your hair, which can effect the how fast your hair grows.

3. Apply an oil or serum treatment daily.

Again, everything comes back to hydration. The hair that touches your shoulders and beyond can be several years old. This means it needs a little extra tender love and care. While your hair is still damp, apply a natural oil or serum to hair for extra protection, healing and shine creating longer hair, faster.

 4. Take an all-natural hair growth vitamin.

Your body requires many vital nutrients to create new hair, such as important proteins and essential minerals. While eating a balanced diet helps, you may not be getting the proper amount of all the hair-building nutrients needed to create healthy hair that can grow super-long and withstand damage.
5. Never, ever wrap your hair in a massive towel.

Quit the habit you’ve probably had for years because you’re breaking your hair! When you wrap your hair in a big bath towel, your hair gets caught in all the woven fibers causing hair to break. Try using the super-thin and soft microfiber hair towels instead.

6. Ditch your cotton pillowcase.

I recommend switching to a sateen fabric for a softer surface that won't cause friction the way that regularly woven cotton does with your hair, so you'll wake up with fewer tangles and breakage.
