Chocolate-almond hearts

Chocolate-almond hearts

Simple, delicious and great for your hair, these chocolate almond hearts are a can’t-miss treat.

Just two simple ingredients give you a healthy snack that has just the right amount of sweetness. They’re easy to make ahead and store for the next time you have a craving.

The reason we love this snack is that the two ingredients are hair-friendly and keep you on your path to luxurious locks.

Almonds are constantly cited as a great snack because of their protein power. Your hair loves protein too as it gives it strength and cellular support. But the healthy nature of almonds doesn’t end there. Almonds are one of the best natural sources of vitamin E, which is a powerful antioxidant, protecting the body from free radical oxidative damage.

It has also been found that almonds reduce blood pressure and improve blood flow. This is not only great for cardiovascular health, but it also helps the body move nutrients around, fueling the scalp and hair with what it needs to growl.

Chocolate is a huge hit with our taste buds, but it’s also a hair-boosting delight. While the recipe doesn’t specify what type of chocolate to use, we believe the health benefits of dark chocolate make it a better choice for your hair and body.

Be prepared, when you realize how good dark chocolate is for your hair, your love for chocolate will grow – as will your hair.

Iron, calcium and vitamins A, B1, C, D, and E are in chocolate and provide needed moisture to your skin and hair. Boosting hair health and allowing it to grow longer and stronger.

You’ll also find flavanols in dark chocolate that help your body recover from UV damage. So next time you spend too much time in the sun unprotected, opt for a healthy handful of chocolate almond bites to soothe the pain.

Chocolate-almond hearts

Ingredients:

½ cup whole blanched almonds, toasted

1 (2-oz) chocolate bark coating square, melted

Directions:

Dip each almond halfway into melted chocolate, pointed ends down.

Lay two dipped almonds on a piece of waxed paper with the chocolate ends touching to form a heart.

Let stand until firm and then snack away. But remember everything in moderation. Both chocolate and almonds are packed with healthy nutrients, but they’re also packed with calories.
