Dark chocolate fruit cups

Dark chocolate fruit cups

You’ve got the urge to munch and need a sweet treat to get you through the day. If you prepare ahead of time, then these dark chocolate fruit cups can be your tasty go-to and you’re still supporting your hair goals.

Turning to dark chocolate when you’re having a sweet craving is a great way to satisfy that desire and support health. If you’re not used to dark chocolate, we’re not going to lie, it does take a while to appreciate the extra-rich flavor. But you will eventually adapt and learn to love it even more than milk chocolate.

Why do you want to eat dark chocolate? Because dark chocolate is great for your hair. It’s rich in vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants that not only nourish your hair and scalp, but they also fight damage.

If you suffer from a dry scalp, dark chocolate adds moisture to your body all over to help you combat dry, flaky skin. But it does more than that. The flavanols in dark chocolate can help prevent your skin and hair from UV damage.

The inclusion of copper, zinc, and iron in the chocolate promotes cell renewal and growth by boosting blood flow to the scalp and fueling healthy hair cell division in your follicles.

Having the option to select your own fruit topping with this recipe, means you can pick the hair- healthy foods that you love the most and customize your own snack.

Dark chocolate fruit cups

Ingredients:

½ cup melted dark chocolate

4 tablespoons Greek yogurt

Sliced fruits or small berries

Honey drizzle

Directions:

Melt your dark chocolate in the microwave or double boiler. While it’s melting, line a cupcake tray with cupcake liners. Or, we recommend using reusable silicone cupcake cups.

Slowly pour a little chocolate into the cupcake cups and use a spoon to spread it up the sides. Try to aim for a medium thickness to the chocolate shell. You want it to stand up, but you don’t want it too thick and too calorie-laden.

Place the cupcake tray in the freezer for 15 minutes to get the shells really hard and solid. Then gently peel off the cupcake liner or silicone cup.

Once the shells are made, you can fill them with yogurt and fruit and drizzle with honey and serve.
