Greek yogurt guacamole

But how is it for your hair? You be the judge.

Avocados and your hair

Avocados are known for their good fat, meaning their monosaturated fatty acids. This helpful fat is nutrient-rich and promotes cell growth. Since your hair is made of up cells, the faster and healthier your cells are, the more luxurious your hair is.

The vitamin E you get from avocados gives you another big boost. This important vitamin improves blood circulation to your follicles, fueling them more efficiently from the inside. Vitamin E also assists in sebum production, keeping the oil and pH levels balanced so pores stay open and functioning. 

The folate in avocados is abundant and is known as a key nutrient for cell division and healthy hair. 

If you’ve heard of folic acid, vitamin B9, and you know how good it is for your hair, then you actually understand the value of folate. Folate is the naturally occurring version of B9 in foods. Folic acid is the synthetic version of the same thing.

There are even more hair health nutrients found in avocados but let’s turn our attention to yogurt. Yogurt boosts hair growth with an ample supply of protein but it’s also full of vitamins D and B5, both give your hair added strength and lush moisture. 

Adding Greek yogurt to your diet will give you notably stronger hair with a sleek and shiny finish. This dish will not only add Greek yogurt, but it will also add some deliciousness to your day! 

Greek yogurt guacamole

Ingredients:

2 medium ripe avocados

1 tbsp fresh lime juice

⅓ cup Greek yogurt

¼ cup chopped red onion

⅔ cup chopped tomatoes

2 tbsps chopped cilantro

Your choice of chips and veggies for serving.

Directions:

Halve and pit the avocados and scoop out the soft green flesh. Put in a medium-sized bowl and add lime juice. Mash thoroughly with a fork until you achieve a smooth consistency.

Then stir in Greek yogurt, red onion, tomatoes, and cilantro. Salt and pepper to taste. 

Serve with chips, crudité or use to top your favorite meals.
