Supercharged water recipes for glowing skin and more

Are you stuck in a hydration rut? We’ve got you! Like you, we’re determined to stay glowing by making sure to drink our daily water intake. We all know it’s essential to stay hydrated, but sometimes sipping plain water throughout the day can get a little boring, and you might want just a little something extra to spice things up!

If you’re avoiding added sweeteners, this is for you. Whether it’s for added flavor or nutrient-focused, we rounded up some of our favorite ways to enhance your H20 for happy hydrating.

Add a little sparkle

When in doubt, sparkling water is a great way to mix things up and add a bubbly effervescence for a midday pick-me-up. Any of the following drinks can substitute flat water for a sparkling water mocktail tonic.

Get iced

You can also freeze any of these aesthetic infusions into custom ice cubes for a more subtle flavor perfectly made for the ‘gram.

Citrus

A classic, refreshing, and brightening water treat. Add lemon, lime, orange, grapefruit, or satsuma for a quick dose of vitamin C. This is also great to add to warm water in the morning to aid digestion.

Florals

You can make light rose water meant for drinking by steeping a few rose petals into a jar and placing it in the sun. For a light hint of flavor, swirl an herbal floral tea bag into room-temperature water for just a few minutes, or toss it into your reusable water bottle on the go. We like hibiscus tea, chamomile, rosehip, lavender, or jasmine for a delicate but aromatic hint. Instead of dried florals, you can also try freezing fresh edible flowers for pretty ice for a special occasion or just because.

Fresh ginger

Fresh ginger or lemongrass can be sliced into cool water, or for more zing, you can steep it in hot water for a few minutes and then pour it over ice.

Veggie water

It may seem odd, but if you like cool, clean, and crisp cucumbers in your spa water, you might enjoy a similar effect from sliced celery or radish. Add some ice, sliced cukes, and thinly sliced radish, and swirl it together with a celery stalk. The dirty martini of water infusions, perhaps?

Herbal water

Mint, rosemary, parsley, or basil are great additions. It’s best to tear the leaves up a bit to release their flavor and essential oils. They are also great mixed with other additions like peach, basil, mint, and lime.

Unsweetened fruit juice

Toss a splash of unsweetened cranberry juice or cloudy apple juice into a tall glass of sparkling water for just the right amount of tang and tartness. It’s festive and looks like a tonic.

Plant chlorophyll

You can purchase a small bottle of plant chlorophyll from any health food store. You only need a drop or two in each glass of water. This potent plant extract is believed to support the immune system, skin, and digestion and is full of antioxidants.

Activated charcoal

Activated charcoal is used to purify and filter water and can be used to purify as supplements or mixed into water to drink. You only need a small amount, and it can be good when you’re on a cleanse.

Chia water

Speaking of a good cleanse, this buzzy drink is all over TikTok and is referred to as an internal shower. Chia is loaded with nutrients, omegas, and antioxidants. It also has a high fiber content that acts as a broom and supports digestion. Just use a very small amount—a teaspoon or so—and mix it into a large glass of water. Let the chia absorb and expand in the water. You can drink this once a week or every other week for full benefits.

Mixed fruit

A fruit infusion is a great alternative to sodas and juice. Just toss in a handful of berries, sliced melon or mango, stone fruit, or even pomegranate seeds, and you’ll get all of the flavors without the sugar. Flavor-boosting tip: Adding a little bit of mint will give your water a refreshing kick while also supporting digestion.

Hair La Vie's Foundation Collagen Elixir

Vinegar

This is another one best in sparkling water over ice for a light tonic. We like a tiny splash (1 teaspoon will do) of apple cider vinegar or a drizzle of balsamic syrup. ACV in small amounts is great for digestion and can substitute for tart citrus.

Spiced syrup infusion

This is simple yet comforting for the fall and winter months. Just some peeled and chopped ginger, a couple of cloves or cinnamon, and a couple of slices of fruit like orange or apple. Steep these ingredients in hot water for five minutes, then drink it hot or over ice.

These quick DIY recipes are hydrating, low in sugar, creative, and flavorful. If you want to sip a ready-to-go nutrient-rich beauty tonic, try Hair La Vie’s Collagen Foundation Elixir for hair, skin, and nail health. It’s melon-flavored and packed with blue spirulina, collagen, vitamin C, and prebiotics to support a healthy gut biome and get you glowing.
